The Prince of Bel-Air

Who has not heard of "The Prince of Bel-Air" starred by well-known-gorgeous-actor Will Smith? Will Smith managed to conquer the rap industry before he went straight into stardom both in TV sitcom and movies. The Prince of Bel-Air was the TV sitcom in the long-running NBC series that boosted his career. The location was in West Philadelphia, where twenty-something Will Smith, a streetwise teenager, is sent by his mother to live with his rich relatives, because she felt things were getting somewhat too dangerous for his upbringing.

Of course, wise-mouth Will proves to be quite the addition to his upper-class family. Thus creating, at first, various cultural and attitudinal differences. In the Bel-Air mansion reside Will, his uncle Philip Banks, his aunt Vivian, the butler Geophrey and his cousins Carlton, Hilary and Ashley. Each episode is filled with humor, sarcasm, comdey and a life lesson. The series is family oriented, with classy jokes. As the first season commences, Will and Carlton are merely in high school, moving on to University in season four. At its third season it was considered among the 16th most popular series, ending in its sixth season on September 9, 1996.
